Minor Requirements
Requirements for the Minor in Chicanx Latinx Studies
A Minor in Chicanx Latinx Studies requires a minimum of six (6) courses in the subject area, excluding the Spanish language classes (SPAN044 SC, SPAN065 CH, or equivalent.)
Required Course: Introduction to Chicana/o Latina/o Studies
One Course from the list of introductory courses under the CLS major requirements
One course from each of the three areas of concentration, as listed for the CLS Major

- Experiencia: Literature, Music and Representation
- Sin Fronteras: Latinx Experiences in the Americas
One additional course from one of the areas of concentration
NOTE: Double-counting of courses to satisfy the requirements listed above is not permitted
One Course with a service learning or civic engagement component:
One of the courses taken to satisfy the CLS major must include a service learning or civic engagement component. The following courses include a service learning or civic engagement component:
